Long overdue update as to what's going on with CopperSunDesigns . . .
In 2007 and 2008 and even in early 2009, we were off and running and the future couldn't have been brighter. New clients were plentiful, old clients always needed new jewelry, shows were successful and commissions were coming in for custom wedding jewelry, special pieces for new wardrobes, etc. Retail stores and exclusive boutiques were contacting us to carry our line of unique jewelry in their shops. We were making jewelry as fast as we could possibly make it in order to keep up and were ready to hire and train new artists to help us. Then the economy plummeted and jewelry sales really suffered. Suddenly we weren't even able to cover our show espenses. The stores and boutiques now wanted our jewelry on consignment, an arrangement that just wouldn't work with our one-of-a-kind pieces. It came as quite a shock to us that women could, after all, live without our fabulous jewelry! We tried to create simpler, less complicated designs to cut our expense and sell at a lower price but we just weren't happy with the results. CopperSunDesigns clients demand and expect unique, one-of-a-kind, extraordinary pieces of art when they purchase jewelry from us. We have always used the finest raw materials, pure silver, gold, and copper, and the most beautiful gemstones and organic materials we could find to create our jewelry. There was just no way we could cut our quality or lower the cost of our materials without creating a product that just was not up to our or our clients' exacting standards. So here's what we've been doing since you last heard from us...
We've still be collecting fabulous beads from all over the world...lots of silver, antique carved bone, all kinds of gemstones, beautiful handcrafted glass beads, wonderful antique leather beads, and more. We've been able to get very special pricing from so many suppliers who have had to close their doors. We've never stopped working on beautiful new designs and have a huge portfolio of pieces waiting to be created. We still do work for clients who want custom work or need several pieces for gifts or a wedding or special new wardrobe items. What we have not been doing are the back-breaking shows and any advertising or promotions. We KNOW the economy will come back, and when it does, we will be in a fantastic position to service all our clients, old and new, with absolutely fabulous jewelry, as always, crafted with perfection, one piece at a time.

The photograph above was taken just before the doors opened at 5 PM. Women line up outside waiting to get in and that last moment before the doors are opened is the last moment of sanity for 5 hours! It's a wonderful craziness with no let up until the doors close again at 10 PM. Women are there to have fun and find treasures and they mean business! We do shows all the time and the biggest problem, always, is getting people there. Not a problem with Shecky's GNO! As 2008 draws to a close . . .
Our official shows are finished up for the year but I am available in my studio by appointment for those last minute special gifts. After the new year look for us at Shecky's Girls' Night Out in February (Dallas) and in early March in Houston. We will also be in some home and office tower shows and will post those here as soon as the dates are confirmed. As always, if you want to schedule a show in your home or office, we'll do the work and you'll be awarded with wonderful free jewelry. Watch this space for the latest news and announcements!
